The InnoTab 3 features a 4.3-inch touch screen, directional pad, tilt sensor, and a 2-megapixel, 180-degree rotating camera with over 55 photo features and special effects. The tablet also has a built-in microphone, headphone jack, and four different media players: an e-book reader, MP3 music player, photo viewer, and video player. The gadget comes with 2GB of onboard memory that can expand to 32GB via micro SD, as well as a pop-up onscreen keyboard and stylus with a storage slot. Following the footsteps of InnoTab 2S, the InnoTab 3 allows children to explore age-appropriate educational content on VTech's app store, the Learning Lodge, which includes games, e-books, videos, and music that cover a broad range of subjects such as reading, math, social studies, handwriting, science, problem solving, and geography. By year's end, the Learning Lodge will expand from its current library of 350 titles to more than 600 designed specifically for each child's stage of development, age, and interests.

The downloads and software cartridges feature a variety of popular characters including Mike the Knight, Angelina Ballerina, Team Umizoomi, Dora the Explorer, Thomas & Friends, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Jack & the Neverland Pirates, and Sesame Street. Parents can follow their child's activities and track progress through the Learning Lodge Progress Log, as well as offer encouragement and congratulations when their child reaches new learning milestones. The tablet also features voice greetings that let children record a message that will greet them every time they turn on the InnoTab 3.
